Could you use a little weight loss motivation? Do you get "pumped up" only to watch your desire fizzle away? If this is the case then what you need is to tap into that rich motivational resource that is living inside of you. Motivation is not something we get "out there" somewhere it is something we bring to the surface from inside and this article shows you how to tap into it so you can use it to reach your weight loss goal, and by "you" I mean anyone and everyone. Go ahead and read on, it is time to put this problem behind you.
Weight Loss Motivation
1. Find THE reason. There are many reasons that you want to lose weight, in fact you could probably pause for 15 seconds and come up with at least 3. The problem is that these are typically what I call "surface" reasons meaning that you have told yourself these reasons so often that they now lack motivation.
What you want to do is dig deeper and find THE reason and a great way to do this is just start writing. List reason after reason why weight loss is important to you and don't stop until you get that moment when you say, "That is it!"
2. It is better to move toward the good then to run away from the bad. Many people try to motivate themselves by telling themselves scary stories about what will happen if they don't lose the weight, "I am going to die early if I don't stop eating all this junk!" This seems motivating doesn't it? Well what researchers who study human behavior have found is that scare tactics do not work well as motivators because the "scary thoughts" become too overwhelming to think about and the person reverts to their old habits usually feeling worse than before.
For true motivation focus on how great life will be when you lose the weight, what you will be able to wear, how you will feel and how easy it will be to move. You will naturally move toward your goal.
3. Cancel thoughts that block your desire. The mind has a tendency to want to stay the same and when you set out to change your body your mind will produce what seems like a flood of self-sabotaging thoughts. You must get very good at using one word, CANCEL. Every time you have a thought that leads you down a path of defeat say CANCEL so the thought cannot develop.
