I decided to write this article because right at this very moment, I am absolutely gasping for breath. I just got done doing a 45 minute cardio circuit training workout. It was taught be Jillian Michaels, and some times I totally hate her for pushing me so hard!
Of course, I'm only kidding about that. I am extremely winded right now, though, and it just got me wondering... in all reality, how hard should I work out to lose weight? Of course, this question has the ever-annoying answer of "It totally depends."

I believe it all simply depends on how fast you want to lose weight. I mean, how much weight do you want to lose and when do you want to lose it by? Obviously, I'm talking about goals here.
If you want to lose 85 pounds in 3 months, you'd better stop reading this right now and go hit the gym, because you've got your work cut out for you! However, if your goal is to drop 30 pounds in 6 months, just a few minutes of low impact aerobic exercise like walking or jogging will easily suffice.
I'm sure you've heard it before, but the bottom line is truly this... all you need to do is burn more calories than you consume. The extent to which you can do that determines how much weight you lose, and how quickly.
